NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE PURCHASE OF 100 DESKS FOR ST. PETER’S DAY SECONDARY SCHOOL FUNDED BY BLICKWINKEL AFRICA OF GERMANY

This report covers a period from 24th June 2020 to 14th September 2020. It was on 24 June 2020 when we received 5,550 Euros from Blickwinkel Africa for the purchase of 100 desks for St. Peter’s Day secondary school.  The project ordered metal frame desks from Lunyangwa Carpentry shop.  Each desk costed MK43, 500,000.00. I am pleased to report that by 31th August 2020 all the desks were made and brought to St. Peter’s Day secondary school.  As much as it was a very happy moment for the school it was difficult to celebrate fully the coming in of the new desks due to Covid-19 pandemic the schools had already closed on 21st March 2020.The reopening of the schools starting with a form four class only.  The students and staff were filled with gratitude and appreciation for the desks. The faces of both the learners and the teachers were full smiles though hidden in the masks, as it is compulsory from the ministry of education that all learners and teacher at school should use face masks to protect them from the spreading of the Coronuvirus.  Because of excitement the Form four students started using the desks even before the official handover.

Each classroom has got 50 desks.  This has greatly contributed to a creating conducive environment for quality education at St. Peter’s Day Secondary school.
