First semester feedback from Itike

Excited news have reached us from Zomba in Malawi. Itike Mkandawire has sent us her first scores. This proves that she has scored very well. She acquired grade A two times which is the hight achievable grade compared with the German grading system. She also made grade C three times. She and, of course, we are very happy about her achievements. Itike studies in Zomba to become a teacher.

A little bit of background infos: It't the first time we have decided to grant College scholarships. For the graduates of our scholarship programme who had acquired access to tertiary education, it has always been a big problem to pay the fees for the university or college. During our visit to Kaseye School, we discussed with headmistress Sr. Clementina the organization and the procedures. We also met the three applicants Tinnar Thera, Itike Mkandawire and Mercy Mwalwanda. We have agreed to support the girls on a trial basis with 700 Euros for one year. This amount corresponds to about 70% of the actual annual needs. We are very excited to see how the girls and the college scholarship program develop and are looking for donors who could imagine sponsoring Itike, Mercy or Tinnar.
